Celebrating Spring at Hakone Gardens

I was asked the question, "what will the preschoolers do at a garden?"  Well, I had to think about that and came to the conclusion that nature is the best playground for any age.

Check out our beautiful morning and afternoon at Hakone Gardens, located in Saratoga mountains. It's a traditional Japanese Garden surrounded by a bamboo garden, koi ponds, mountain trails, tea houses, Zen gardens, and strolling gardens.
Welcome to Hakone Gardens.
The excitement of feeding large koi fish brought the biggest smile to his face.
Here the kids stand on the bridge to feed the koi.
Teacher Cassy shows how beautiful the fish are up close.
A little closer by sitting on the rocks at the koi pond.
A pose on the rock stairs.
A hike in the Hokone mountains.  Led by kids with a map.
A beautiful Zen garden for contemplation.
 A small water fall.
 A tea house porch.
Another Tea House porch overlooking Hakone Gardens
 Feeding ducks and koi fish.

Nature at is finest.

 My little posers.

With 135 pictures to choose from, it was a challenge to keep this blog to a minimum.
We enjoyed a wonderful spring side lunch at their picnic tables and headed home with the biggest smiles.  What another beautiful day with my favorite kids,
PattyKakesKidz that is.
