A really Hot Day in Oak Meadow Park

With beautiful sunshine upon us, we have been enjoying some great fieldtrips outside our school.  It was hot last week, but we managed a trainride, airplane climb and park play at Oak Meadow Park.  What a great day:
In the cockpit.

Jumping off the wing.

Crawling across the nose of the airplane.

Climbing over the tail of the airplane.

A sitout protesting the heat of the sun.

Water break for the little ones.

Let's go on a trainride.

Waving to our fans.

The movement of the train brings a nice breeze.

Watching a woman turn the train around by hand.

Next we head over to the Merry-Go-Round.

Not everyone chose a horse.  The cart was just fine.

Now for a frizbee run through the fields.

Hey, someone play catch with me.

A walk across the rocks.

A strong frizbee arm.

Resting in the shade of a tree, picking flowers for mama.

The occasionally stop to watch the creek alongside the trail as we head back home.
Until our next great time with PattyKakesKidz.

Nature Fieldtrips

Fieldtrips can cost lots of money, but exploring nature in a group setting is priceless. Follow us on our trip to Roaring Camp Railroads in Felton California.

The drive is is about 45 minutes and as you pull into Felton, you will first come up on a great park.

Next, the beautiful covered bridge.  The kids loved exploring, running over it, checking the holes in the floor to see the river and looking out the windows to toss sticks.

We then head over to the Roaring Camp Railroads to have lunch, run through the grass and explore trains, but not before seeing a deer.
Make-believe: 3 little pigs and the big bad wolf.

We then head over to the Visitor's Center and walk the trail exploring the huge redwood trees.
We see so many beautiful trees, animals and more.

We stop for snack at the top of the trail.

This trip was one of 3 this week.  We had a nice group of 18 children, ranging from 2 years old to 10 years old.  We had 3 schools and 4 teachers total.  Everyone was sweet, respectful and caring for each other.
Until our next field trip with Patty Kakes Kidz.
