April Fun

Here are a few things we did this past month.

Bubbles.  Not the typical bubbles blown through a small wand, but really big bubbles.  How to make them, how to blow them, how to capture them and all the tools you need to enjoy them.  This was a fun activity.

We went on a bug hunt and discovered many wonderful outdoor bugs.
Puppet play was a big hit this month, letting their imaginations run a muck.

We set up sensory tables.  This one dedicated to treasures.  They collected jewels & coins, sorted them and shared stories about where they believed they came from.

We planted sunflower seeds in clear gloves, taped them to windows for a week, then we planted them out front.  Now we wait to see if we actually get sunflowers.
We studied geology.  For preschoolers, the beauty of rocks.
We made our own tic-tac-toe board game for each child, taught them how to play and watched the fun come to life.

We did preschool work, started Mother's Day gifts (pictures are secret still), learned our letters of the Month (V, W, X), played outdoors in this great weather, went to the San Francisco Zoo, went to several park days, visited the library and wrapped up our month saying goodbye to one of our preschool friends.  It was Riley's last day today and we had a goodbye party at Yogurt Land.  We love you Riley.

  1. Riley was so blessed to attend Pattykakes Kidz for almost two years. As his Gramma (who taught in a preschool for 10 years), I was fortunate to pick him up several times. I was always so impressed with all the love, attention, and hands-on activities. The play-based curriculum was well developed and very thorough--lots of dedicated teaching! I was amazed at the wonderful field trips and they even came to visit Riley in his new town and home. What a special introduction to school and learning--thank you so much, Teacher Patty!!
