A Look at the Book

Last week's theme was all about books.  With all that we need to accomplish daily with our families, society has gone from the snuggling with your kiddos and reading a good book to scrambling to make dinners, clean up and get kiddos ready for bed all while electronics take over.  From iPads (which I'm guilty of loving), television or our smart phones (another one I love lol), these electronics are almost watching our children while they watch back.  I decided to take this past week and explain how we care for our books, what are the parts of a book, ie the Spine.  I explained about where to borrow books (the library), and we spent so much time snuggling and reading books.  We then took 3 of our favorite books and created little books of our own by binding our week's creations.
So, join me as we take a Look at our Book:

The Very Hungry Caterpillar
After reading the book, we painted caterpillars.

Next we created munched on leaves.

I Love My White Shoes
After reading, we made Pete the Cat
inside our favorite colored shoe.

A Color of His Own
We read the book then matched all the chameleons
with their homes.

 Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!

Now, here's our book bound of all their projects of the week:

Here's our binding (Green Yarn lol)
Well, that's it for our book.  We have a new appreciation for books here and love reading everyday.

Now for a few pics from past week jobs.
Our retaining wall is DONE!
We gained 4 extra linear feet of play yard.

 Our Garden is DONE!
Thanks husband!
Now we need to design and plant with the kiddos.
My dad took an old futon frame, cut it apart and made a base below our large tree to prevent injuries.
My dad built a small cover for our
water faucet too so it all looks rustic.
Until next week everyone where we share our fun celebrating Springtime and Easter!

The Week of "Oh So Much to Do" Week.

How does one title a week where you celebrated birthdays, new children enrolled, a Themed week of Dr. Seuss, cool bugs, cool class pet and loads of playing indoors and outdoors.  I guess you give it the title I did above.  Join me as I take you on a stroll of our very exhausting, yet very fun week:
Let us begin with our Themed Week; Dr. Seuss
Here is our full bulletin board and wall of the many learning projects we did.  The theme was Dr. Seuss Week, but we also had some free art painting and the letter Q is for Quilt.  The number 12 was incorporated into the Sock on Fox Day, as well as the color green.

Our Friend Turns 3

And her wish is...................

For the Love of Outdoors

These little guys love the climbing gym in back yard.
Yes, Park Play with our new friends.
Really, he's not scared LOL ROFL.
A stroll along the creek to explore and throw sticks.

 Pet Love
Pets teach us respect of other living things, patience, a love of little creatures, responsibility, the science of fauna and just brings out a sweet side to us all.  Watch here as our Pet Chinchilla struts her stuff for these little ones.
Bugging Around
We have a bunch of cool insects and arachnids in acrylic.  We placed them on a light that changes colors when pressed on and came up with these cool pics.  The kids loved it so thought I'd share here with all of you.
Have a wonderful upcoming week everyone.
